  13. Speaking of that...This has traditionally been a guys trip, so girls or no girls?

    ReplyDelete
  14. The only year I remember women were not present was Phloat Trip '07. So I don't think it will end up a guys trip this year either.

wives are getting pissed that chicks are showing up and yet wives aren't invited.
    getting sick of explaining that!

  16. Koozies I got covered. I think I might even write Phloat Trip 09' on them. While I have the floor, I would like to give a shout out to the organization that has made this little trip possible year after year, the Booze Corp. We them, we could not get near as F'ed up and also a shout out to the Coors Brewing Co - without your cheap, Keystone goodness there is no telling how many brain cells I would be stuck with. See you Scrotes on the river!!!!!!

  17. Oh yeah, and just so everyone knows, I don't care how "big" the dogfood bag was or how much "help" I may have gotten from Brett, Reid welched on his bet from last year. Sooooo.....
Reid's name is dead to me now but Rueben Welcher Felcher is very much alive.

  18. There weren't any girls the first year of Phloat Trip, that I know for sure. I vote no girls. But if there are going to be some scrotes that invite girls, let everybody know so us married folks don't have to do "some 'splaining".

Also, who's in for Thursday campin' and friday phloatin'??

    ReplyDelete
  19. I am in for Thursday night camping an Friday phloating...Phloat trip '06 women came down.

  20. Phloat Trip '06 was the second year. First year was Pruitt to Buffalo City...which is something we need to do again, or something similar.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I was not there for the Pruitt to Buffalo City trip...but I bet it was fun! I will be where ever we camp on Thursday night if its on the upper (water permitting) but if we have to go on further down past Ozark I will prolly just be able to handle one day of the flat water. It will be here before you know it!!

  29. Neg on the pop-up! I will be coming from the greater gulf area and up through Hot Springs and Russ-vegas (water permitting that we get to go up top....How am I getting the blame for chicks coming the second year? In no way will I get the blame for the chicks in '06....I might have had one there, but she came with her friends....so HA! Phloat Trip '07 was a only for the strong willed folks and last year well...I was not the only Jake that had an ole gal down there, nor were we the only ones that get the blame down there on the river.

    Who the hell is Kelvin?

  34. MMMMM.......looks so good!!! Danny & Kevin well on Saturady we rode horses a LONG F N ASS way on the river to say the least and well let me tell you I was needing a beer! Anyhow when we rode thru Kyles I saw your bearded friend and he told us to get our horses out of the campground, much like he told you all several times to turn your Billy Idol down last year!! He still looks spry as usual and maybe we could get him a care basket of "para" and shampoo....I bet you could get away with murder if Painterbob would just contribute some "killer weed man" for this basket. He was wearing a suit and tie, but still had the beard and the much mentioned "radio" that he was about to call the "Rangers" in on....so FYI stop in and tell him ola!

  37. I cannot make it down to the beach until Friday night. I'm bummed but my liver is happy. Did anyone else know that Ramsey is coming this year? Anyway, I'm super jacked Jimmy Snooka. Anyone heard from Kinger Splash?

    nate

    ReplyDelete
  38. Seriously Wilson?? I used to remember the day when ur banker would take off work and phloat with u. I guess those days are over.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Brett is in for Thursday camping and Friday phloatin'. Brett says to, "bring your crawfish from the greater gulf region, Rueben." By the way, Danny, I was going to take off but we are too thin that day. You should appreciate your banker taking one for the team. Hell, there should be plenty of other bankers down there. You know, ask Rueben, if his banker will be down there. I'm sure he/she will be there because they never miss a trip. Either way, I'll be bringing the noise when I show and you scrotes are all in the "Wet Paint" van smoking joints and poles.

    nate

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nate,

My banker is a shovel I am burying everything in the yard these days. So yes, my banker will be there for us to lean up against. Looks like we are going to have a lil water!!!!!!!!!!!

This year no HORSESHIT moving the dogfood sack!

Wilson if you dont want to even come down this year that will be fine just have someone bring the prettiest kayak EVER so we can stare!

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rueben and the rest of you all, "slack jaw faggots", aka Greater Gulf Region Residents, can lick the tape off of the prettiest kayak's rear hole. Bring your A game for dogfood bag can tossing, unless you are satisfied with shitty bank customer service. If so, I'm sure your current banker will be there to help you out. *** DUMPSTERS

  48. FYI, I'm assuming the plan is still to wait until Mon/Tues of next week to decide where we float. Unless anyone objects, looks like we'll be able to float Ponca to Kyles and camp there if the water stays up. I'm going to get in touch with Jefferson next week to give him a headcount, but would like some input from you guys on how many people are going. I know it will be difficult to estimate since Reid is bringing his gal (aka...the one who holds the jewels) and I guess her parents and grandparents are also invited, but give me your best guess and I'll get with Jessie.

    --Ryan

    ReplyDelete
  49. FUCK YOU PLUMLEE!!!! It would be nice to get to go as high as we could on the river!!! I mean if you can float in somewhat of a more technical part of the river why in the hell do you want to float in slow moving water, but thats just me. Its looks like its going to rain all next wk which is nice!!! If Kyles was floatable the higher the better and since the huge group of KC lesbians will be at Ozark as well that could keep some heat off of us if we stayed at Kyles...just my .02.

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm in fri and sat plum. Not bringing wife or grandma since this is a guys trip if you want to call it that.

    chuck

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm floating Friday and Saturday...Camping beginning on Thursday night....

    ReplyDelete
  52. No problems Chuck. Space may not be a problem, as I'm hearing Rueben may be bringing a raft for the wife and family. I think they wanted to float a more peaceful part of the river in the middle, though, but should still be planning to camp. I'm also hearing that Rueben's truck is for sale. He'll take 16K for it, or trade for a mini van and his jewels back.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Rueben maybe you and "LapDog" can share a 15 man tent together since u pussys are bring the whole family..i just hope there is room for me in the raft!

    Kelvin

    ReplyDelete
  54. Looks like good rain this week and for the next 8 days, so we may all need our 'big job quality' rain suits next weekend. Unless anyone objects, lets plan to float Ponca to Kyles and camp at Kyles since we should have plenty of water. I haven't heard from anyone on total headcount, so I'll probably tell Jefferson that we'll have around 15 needing shuttled at Kyles. If anyone wants to float elsewhere, please let me know asap and i'll change shuttle plans with Jessie.

    --Ryan

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hailstone or Boxley would be fine with me!!! UPPER RIVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad we are not going farther up the river since we will have the water to do so!

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  56. Everyone, just assume it's going to rain. So if you're making a decision about whether to go or not based on the rain, just assume that it will and make your decision.

    ReplyDelete
  57. So Kyles is the 100% camp spot? Just making sure on that sounds GREAT to me.

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  58. So Danny and I are the only ones spooning in the campershell Thursday night? I am super excited about the fun eve!

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  59. Talked to Jesse today. He's going to call me back with a definite plan, but I told him that we'd have 4-6 and a canoe floating to Kyles on Fri am, and 15-18 and a couple canoes at Kyles on Sat am. Jesse said that the pickup time will have to be determined after he talks to a couple of his other large groups that are going and figures up a gameplan, but it may be either pretty early or fairly late. If we don't get some rain, it may be an issue and we might move to plan B and move camp spots since there's already 26 inches airspace this morning at Ponca. Kyles is still the camp spot, but stay tuned if this needs to change by this Thurs. ALSO, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE RANGERS WILL BE PUTTING UP WITH NO FUNNY BUSINESS OR MOUTHING. The campgrounds will be packed and they will haul people off to jail at first chance.

  60. So I should leave the blowlogs and flare guns in Texas? The swine flu will get us before Phloat trip gets here, so no worries about water or funny business....hey Plumlee do the regs state no funny business allowed after hours or is that your guideline?

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  61. I heard that jesse was complaining that we stiffed him on some of his money last year. I personally took a head count and know that we overpaid for the amount of people there. If his drivers gave him all the money is a different story, not to mention we had to drive one of our own vehicles to the put in. If he doesn't want our business, I say we head on down to shine eye.
It'll be a slower phloat but does it matter? And there we won't get hassled about our funny business.

    chuck

    ReplyDelete
  62. I am game on the Shine Eye idea for sure...yes we did over pay him I am with Chuck on that one. Some of the bills may have been used as "papers" on the ride back to the office. True it will be slower, but if he wants to bitch about it let him. He is not the only consessioner on the river and we dont have to give him our business. This whole thing on the Upper is going to be rain dependant no matter what. Whatever happens between now and noon Thursday will more than likely determine if we go to the Upper or to Shine Eye.

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm cool with the Shine Eye plan. I would love some fast water but Shine Eye works. This trip is more about hanging out and less about flood stage floating anyway. Plumlee called me earlier and said that Milburn has offered to bushhog off a spot to camp on his place, at Baker's. That works for me also and we would be off of park land so we can have all the funny business we want. Milburn also told Plumlee that he could handle our shuttle. Camping at Milburn's would give us the Woolum to Baker's option which I think is around 11 miles. Either way, lets have fun and try our best to not get in trouble so it doesn't spoil the single most looked forward to weekend of the year.

    Your Truly,

    Nate

    ReplyDelete
  64. Current OFFICIAL gameplan is to go to Ben Milburn's land near Baker's Ford. It will be posted on this blog by noon Thurs if this changes, but this is very solid at this time. Cost for shuttle will be $6 per man and no charge to camp. We will put in at Woolum and float to Baker's Ford (around 12 mi). I will clarify that I may have misunderstood Jesse's accusation of us shorting him last year (don't think I did, but we can give him the benefit of the doubt on that). He did mention that he'd be real busy on Sat and wouldn't be sure about the pickup times. All this in mind, plus the crowds at Kyles and likely Ranger hastling, lead us to talking about moving. So, we'll camp at Ben's land near Baker's. Good news is it's free and we have access to Baker's crapper, although you'll have to get up pretty early to beat the Moore boys. Now that I think about it, that thing took several massive hits a couple years ago and likely still hasn't been the same. Anyone bringing wood and/or blowlogs?

    --Ryan

    ReplyDelete
  65. Nate M. is going to bring a saw and a little dab of wood, so any others coming from Htown bring some firewood also. Ben said he will take a bushhog down there this eve so we will have short grass and he also told me that he has fire rings for "cane" it should be a great time.

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  66. When Brett and I come Friday night, we will be yielding some firewood but that doesn't help those champions that are camping Thursday night. Either way, I'm getting jacked. Oh yeah, I'll probably bring a weedeater to possibly help with the ticks.

    nate

    ReplyDelete
  67. sounds like a great idea. i will bring some blankets to help with the bears. and yes we are champions. NASTY

    ReplyDelete
  68. Speaking of funny business, Brandon Olsen was telling me that this guy who shall remain anonymous, Cameron Quants, got hauled to the poke last weekend for threatening to kick someones ace in front of the rangers. This was all after mouthing the rangers because they told him he couldn't have a blow log in the campground and thet issued him a couple of tickets. NASTY

    ReplyDelete
  69. I am not suprized one bit about Cameron Quants....not everyone can escape johnny law like a shirtless Plumlee! Beefy onion is made ready for fire! An F-LOAD of beer is iced down, ready for one pretty-@ss kayak to show up on Friday night. H1N1 (Swine Flu) is going to take us down!!! The crawfish are going to taste well 2mrw eve! All those folks that ordered Texas Longhorn shirts will have to wait a few wks for delievery....sorry guys!

P.S. I am bringing a small gator for Wilson to pester!!

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm so ready I can taste the red bull already, can't wait to smell like smoke and smokes for days!! Picked up a Big Job Quality at da sto for the impeding storms that I'm sure are a brewin'.

    Make Noises!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I will make your noises!!!!!!!! Big Jog Quality is the only way to go....make sure it has a boxcutter slash in the middle of your back! Red Bull makes for a GREAT headache!!! Danny you best be ready for some spooning in the campershell!

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  72. Look forward to seeing you fellas at the riva. For all going, it would appear that we might encounter some rain most the weekend, so Big Job Quality is a must. I am trying to make an umbrella for the Keystone. I bet Wilson had a sleepless night last night.....nightmares about giant man-eating ticks. See you fellas tomorrow night at Ben's place.......

    ReplyDelete
  73. Its going to be a great wkend for Phloat Trip '09.....the water never came to the Upper so we would be backpacking!!

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  74. I just got off the phone with Ben and he said we are bush hogged and ready for camping....water levels being where they are at a normal or a tad faster than normal we should look at around a 6hr float. Should try and plan to have Ben or (boat apes) down at the "FireBase" around 10am. So just plan on the shuttle leaving at 10am both days.

SYOTR (See You on The River)

    Rueben

    ReplyDelete
  75. Fellas....I will have to give "props" for planning to camp on Milburn's land. The problem is that I had a few too many crazy experiences on that part of the river in college, so I might have to pull out my fake nose and mustache when we get close to woolum. Searcy county women dont forgive....See you boys Friday.

  76. Well I will finally post on the wonderful web of Danny, just to say someone please bring chains so we can help Danny get his little car out of the mud pit on Sunday!!

  78. As of 8:51pm on Thurs, our "boots on the ground" at ground zero claims clear skies and plenty of stars. I'm bringing some mowing material to help tame back the ticks - my kryptonite. Well, packing and getting ready for bed, See you fuckers on the beach. And yes Plumlee, there will be most definitely be "Beer In Hand," going on tomorrow night. Possibly Beers in Hands, who knows. I love you!!!!
